Garlic Beds

This was one of our most straight forward projects recently.  We used our "Tiller-Hiller" to help a farmer create a series of 50' beds which they are going to use to grow garlic.  The farmer had previously laid down wood chips to kill the grass in the area.  We tilled the area creating raised beds.  The farmer will then add a few inches of compost on top of the beds, plant garlic, and mulch it heavily with straw.  They garlic will grow weed free in these raised beds all winter.  Many farmers have larger equipment but lack a small enough tractor to get into tight spaces and prepare soil and garden beds without compaction.  This took a fraction of the time and effort that a BCS walk behind tractor would have required.
