Garden Bed Goodbye

8-25-2023. This area consisted of a a few old garden beds.  Over the years, the trees had shaded out the beds and they became weedy messes.  Due to impending weather and a quick timeline we didn't snap any before pictures.  But there were poke bushes 10' high, other shrubs, and even a small oak tree we cut down.  We ran the Brush Hog through the area, then used the box blade to pull the roots and smooth the area.

8-26-2023. We then cleaned up the area as much as we could, removing the piles of roots and raking out as much debris as possible.  We cut a few of the larger roots out by hand to ensure the area could be tilled.  After that we hooked up the tiller and tilled the entire area.  Once again, we were doing this before impending rain so we didn't stop to take a bunch of pictures.  We ended up creating a beautiful seed bed and broadcasting seed right as it started raining.  The homeowners followed up with regular watering of the area and the grass is coming in great.

9-20-2023. After a couple weeks of watering and a little rain, the area is looking good.  We checked on it and decided we would lightly overseed one more time before the next rain to fill in a couple spots where germination wasn't great.  We will add a little compost to those areas as well to hopefully increase germination.  This are is now smooth and level enough to mow on a regular basis and looks way cleaner than the old garden beds did.
